Description

This workshop is designed to help develop your confidence and equip you with the knowledge, understanding and applied skills to teach cricket within physical education and school sport.

Over the duration of the course, you can expect to explore the following questions:

* What is cricket and what can it offer young people?

* What sort of skills can young people learn from cricket in physical education?

* How can I create safe, enjoyable and stimulating lessons using cricket?

* Which modified and competitive games can be played at key stages 3 and 4?

* What is the cricket network and how can my school be supported?

As part of this course, teachers will gain access to i-coach, the official ECB online planning resource which contains extensive video examples of:

* Warm up / cool down drills.

* How to coach batting, bowling and fielding techniques according to varying levels of ability.

* How to organise and run practice drills.

* A variety of cricket-based games.

* Tactical play in cricket.

In addition, i-coach has a session planner making it ideal for planning lessons and will also provide good documentary evidence for Ofsted!
