Inclusive Zone Basketball CompetitionClose Window

Description

This competition is available for all secondary schools and colleges throughout the East, and is an action packed sport that combines running and wheelchair basketball and enables pupils with a physical disability to represent their school and region alongside their non-disabled classmates in the same sport, on the same team, at the same time!

To enter an eligible team, a school or college is required to enter a squad of between 5-10 pupils from Year 7 to Year 13 with at least one player with a lower limb impairment (LLI) that prevents them from playing running game basketball, with the rest of the team made up of able bodied players (although it is heavily suggested that more than one player with a LLI is in the squad). This squad can be a mixed age, mixed gender and mixed ability, allowing for full inclusivity. Please find attached a flyer with further details.

The winning team shall qualify to represent their region at the IZB National Finals on Wednesday 26th April 2017 at Worcester Arena and receive a £100 travel grant towards the cost of attending.

The deadline for entries is Friday 24th February 2017, and teams shall be entered on a first come, first serve basis.
