Description

This event forms part of the Norfolk School Games.

Entry is via the cluster qualifying competitions with the winning boys' team and the winning girls' team progressing to the partnership event.

Format:

Each cluster are invited to bring a squad of 18-20 with 9 or 10 boys and 9 or 10 girls from Years 5 & 6. Small schools that qualify can bring students from years 4-6.

Each pupil can take part in a maximum of 2 track and 2 field events from the following:

Track events

* 1 + 1 relay (2 girls & 2 boys)

* 2 + 2 relay (2 girls & 2 boys)

* 6-lap parlauf (2 girls & 2 boys)

* Obstacle relay (4 girls & 4 boys)

* Over/Under relay (4 girls & 4 boys)

* 4 x 1-lap relay (4 girls & 4 boys)

Field events

* Chest Push (3 girls & 3 boys)

* Foam Javelin (3 girls & 3 boys)

* Speed Bounce (3 girls & 3 boys)

* Standing Long Jump (3 girls & 3 boys)

* Standing Triple Jump (3 girls & 3 boys)

* Vertical Jump (3 girls & 3 boys)

Timings:

1:00 pm     Arrival/Registration

1:15 pm     Welcome & Briefing

1:20 pm - 3:30pm     Competition

3:45 pm     Results & Presentation

4:00 pm     Departure

Medals will be presented to the members of the winning boys' team and the winning girls' team and certificates to those finishing in 2nd and 3rd place.

The winning teams will then be invited to represent the South Norfolk SSP at the Norfolk School Games Sportshall Athletics Finals.

Please note that Schools are responisble for the transport, arrival and departure of their pupils. Schools should bring their own first aid kit and are responsible for the first aid to their students.

Photo/Video Consent:

We use a variety of digital and social media to promote all of our events including our SSP website, Facebook/Twitter profiles. Please ensure you make SSP staff aware of any children without photo/video consent prior to the start of the event. These children will be asked to wear a yellow armband throughout the event which will indicate that no photographs/videos should be taken of them.
