A fantastic afternoon of tag rugby was played by 70 year 5+6’s from Burston, Roydon, Bressingham, St. Andrews –N. Lopham and Dickleburgh. It was good to see all of the players get so involved in the games played. Every player in each of the teams contributed to the games they played in by scoring a try, ‘tagging’a player, supporting other players or making a good pass. The tournament was played as a round robin format and the results were as follows: 6th = Roydon B and Dickleburgh,
5th – Burston A, 4th - St. Andrews, 3rd- Bressingham, 2nd - Burston B and the winners Roydon A. The following pupils were awarded ‘most improved player’: Burston A – Zak Fleming, Burston B – Matthew Wyles, Roydon A – Laura Nichols, Roydon B – Shaun Brown, Bressingham – Libby Hambling, Dickleburgh – Lauren Seaman, St. Andrews – Sheldon Hubbard.
Thanks must go to Diss High School Sports Leaders who were outstanding at warming the players up and coaching the players throughout their matches. Another thank you must go to the three sixth formers; Max Burrows, David Blake and Tom Walne who did a brilliant job at officiating all the games.
Both Roydon and Burston will represent our family cluster in the South Norfolk Partnership tag rugby finals at Wymondham Rugby Club on Monday January 11th.
