Adventurous run in the forest

 

This event was held at Thorpe Woodland Adventure Centre located in Thetford Forest on Wednesday 3rd March. Following a planned 1900m course through the forest over 300 year 5+6 pupils experienced a typical cross country terrain. This enabled these pupils to experience the natural environment and gain a real sense of achievement. The following schools took part: St.Andrews, Garboldisham, Burston, Roydon, Tivetshall, Newton Flotman, Forncett St. Peter, Spooner Row, Poringland, Brooke, Trowse, Banham, St. Mary’s, E.Harling, Kenninghall, Glebeland, Loddon Junior, Thurlton, Bunwell. The course was marshalled and officiated by Sports Leaders from Diss High School and thanks must go to Mrs Somers, teacher responsible for the leadership programme at the High School which enables students to develop their leadership skills by supporting events such as this.

The following pupils have qualified to represent the South Norfolk School Sport Partnership at the County Cross Country finals on Wednesday 24th March at Taverham. Names will be added here (there will be 10 boys and 10 girls from years 5+6)
