Diss Cluster Rounders Tournament
A sunny afternoon at Diss High School saw twelve teams - over 120 pupils in years 5+6, take part in a rounders tournament. The afternoon began with skills being planned, organised and delivered by Diss High School sports leaders. These skills focussed on hitting, batting, throwing, catching, bowling and fielding. It was fantastic to watch the young people enjoy developing their skills. During the game play there was not one pupil who did not contribute to the game either by catching, bowling or stumping another player out or by scoring a rounder. The screams and shouts almost equalled the noise of the vuvuzela! A number of the games were really close and good sporting behaviour was shown by all schools taking part. The tournament was played as a league format which enabled each school to play six games. Overall winners were Burston A followed by Roydon A, Dickleburgh B and Diss Junior (equal 3rd), Garboldisham, Burston B, Bressingham, All Saints B, Roydon B, Dicklburgh A, Tivetshall, All Saints A.
