Archbishop Sancroft High School and Old Buckenham primary cluster Kwik Cricket tournament.
A warm sunny day leant itself to a fantastic day of kwik cricket for the following primary schools: Harelston, Pulham, Alburgh with Denton, East Harling and Old Buckenham; which was held at Archbishop Sancroft High School. The nature of this game is all inclusive in that every player bowls, bats and fields. Throughout the tournament there was some superb shots played, some pupils hitting many sixes and numerous players scoring fours plus some exciting running between the wickets; not forgetting the amazing catches. This was an opportunity for the pupils to develop their cricketing skills and it is hoped that they will have been inspired to go and join their local cricket club.
A number of the games played were very close and winning every game and overall winners of the tournament were Harleston, runners up was East Harling, followed by Alburgh with Denton, Pulham, Old Buckenham A, Old Buckenham B.
The top three teams will represent the South Norfolk School Sports Partnership in the Partnership finals to be held on Thursday 23rd June at Great Melton Cricket Club.
Thanks must go to Sports Leaders from Old Buckenham High School and Archbishop Sancroft High School who helped to officiate all of the matches played and be responsible for the recording of scores, they all did a fantastic job.
