SN Olympic Cultural Winners Announced

South Norfolk School Sport Partnership is hosting a Primary Olympic extravaganza in this exciting sporting year of 2012. In January over 30 primary schools and 1700 pupils from Key Stages 1 & 2 signed up for cultural competitions in certificates, posters, poems and song as well as two days of sporting activity at the UEA for years 1 & 2 on Monday 9th July and years 3 & 4 on Tuesday 10th July.

Over the past three months teachers have been working with their pupils on the cultural competitions and in total we received over 500 entries. Initially entries were judged in their schools, then in their clusters and on Wednesday of last week the final judging competition took place.

The winning certificates will be printed and handed out to each participating athlete on the sporting festival days; the poems will be used as the front cover of the programmes, the posters blown up and displayed and the winning song performed live!

The winning entries are attached as resources; I hope you agree that the effort, standard and enthusiasm from our all our pupils is simply fantastic!

My thanks to all of those involved with the organising, collating and judging especially Maurice Cohen from the Pathways to Success Partnership, Richard Harrowven from All Routes Partnership, South Norfolk School Sports Coordinators, South Norfolk District Council and the UEA Sportspark.

The South Norfolk SSP team are now in the exciting phase of organising all the sporting activities for the 1700 pupils over the two days, it really is going to be a special day for all to remember.
