Diss Cluster KS1 Multi Skill Festival

On Friday 10th November over 250 Key Stage 1 children from the Diss Cluster primary schools took part in a multi skills festival held at Diss High School. The day consisted of two sessions; the following schools attended the morning session: Dickleburgh, Scole and Roydon and in the afternoon session: All Saints, St Andrews, Diss Infant and Garboldisham.

The pupils rotated around ten different skills and were given the opportunity to develop their agility, balance and coordination. The children ran through ladders, weaved in and out of cones, threw balls and beanbags through hoops and at target baskets. Some of the skills were a little more challenging where they had to balance on a wobble cushion, catch, and throw balls to the sports leaders.

The day also enabled Diss High Sports Leaders to develop their leadership skills; they helped to plan and lead the two sessions, they did a fantastic job by enthusiastically encouraging the pupils; they demonstrated each skill and guided the young people through the skills in a fun way. This day would not have been as successful as it was without their support, so thanks must go to all of them.

It was lovely to see all the pupils who took part having fun and enjoying the activities.
