On Monday 9th November over 600 Norfolk pupils competed in the county’s biggest School Sport Partnership Games competition hosted by Lynnsport, King’s Lynn. The event was opened and closed by former canaries star Jeremy Goss and Great Britain Paralympian Danny Nobbs.
Now in its third year, the Norfolk School Sport Partnership Games saw pupils from Key Stages three and four, from the eight Norfolk School Partnerships, each one representing a cluster of high schools from all over Norfolk, competing against each other.
National Governing Bodies and local sports clubs from these sports helped to run the tournaments in their respective sports and each event contributed points towards a Partnership’s overall score. The Governing Bodies also had the opportunity to scout for young talent while at the same time offering their sport to young people who may not have competed in that sport outside of a school environment.
Participation, social interaction and teamwork were highly encouraged and considered as important as excelling in sport.
"The games was a great success. The atmosphere and enthusiasm from the 600 students taking part and wanting win was just amazing. Everyone who participated in Norfolk's largest School Sport Competition and who helped organsie the event in some capacity needs to be congratulated"- Asa Saunders, Partnership Development Manager North Norfolk.
