The eight school sport partnership mascots rose to the challenge this weekend by competing in the Sainsburys Sport Relief Mile held in Norwich's city centre. The event saw over 2500 people take part in the event completing either 1, 3 or 6 miles in aid of Sport Relief.
The bears enjoyed the carnival atmosphere that was created in the city centre with samba bands, cheerleaders, stilt walkers and other street entertainers.
The Norwich mile was one of 16 flagship events which took part across the country and saw a host of other famous faces take part as well as the bears including Norwich City FC legend Darren Huckerby, ultra distance runner Jackson Williams, who ran in bare feet, and Paralympian Danny Crates.
The 1 mile course started outside the Millenium Library and took 'milers'on a tour of city centre site including Chapelfield Gardens, Chaplefield Shopping Centre, Gentleman's Walk and Norwich Market.
Norwich SSP mascot Hercules said;
"It was amazing to see so many young people being active and taking part in the mile event. Me and my bear friend decided to take part in the event to show young people across the eight school sport partnerships that being active can be good for your health and fun at the same time!"
