Sport Unlimited Update

The South Norfolk School Sport Partnerships summer term sport unlimited programme commenced this week and hopes to provide a range  of attractive and sustainable opportunities in sporting activities for many young people across the partnership.

South Norfolk School Sport Partnership were successful in recieving £11,120 funding for the summer term which has been distributed across the partnership to those schools who bid for activities. There are 56 activities taking place these include water sports, dodgeball, tennis, trampolining and many more.

The sport unlimited programme is particularly targetted at the age groups that evidence shows are more likely to drop out of sport and physical activity- those aged 10-12 (the transition from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 3) and those aged 14-19. We hope that by offering these 8 weeks, high quality sport unlimited taster session in new activities, that young people will be inspired to sign up for longer term participation in local clubs in the community.

The sport unlimited programme is an integral part of the governments PE and Sport Strategy for Young People (PESSYP), this is often referred to as the five hour offer because the overall aim is to provide young people with 5 hours of sport and physical activity per week.

If you would like more information about sport unlimited and how you could apply for funding or would like an informal discussion about what could be available to your school, please do not hesitate to contact me on the details below.
