Swimming Gala Success

On Tuesday 11th May the South Norfolk School Sport Partnership held the intermediate swimming gala for all those young people in years 7-9. The event took place at the Hewett School and was arranged to select the swimmers to represent South Norfolk in the county final on the 17th June 2010 at the UEA Sportspark.

The event was attended by 6 of the partnerships high schools they were:

  • Archbishop Sancroft High School
  • Framingham Earl High School
  • Hobart High School
  • Long Stratton High School
  • Old Buckenham High School
  • Wymondham High School

All of the young people who competed throughout the day swam brilliantly with some excellent times being recorded. All of the swimmers worked extremly hard during the competition and throughly enjoyed themselves.

The team result was close but ultimately it was the team from Wymondham High School that took the honours with 172 points.

The aim of the gala was to offer opportunities to those between the ages of 11-14 and increase the number of swimmers having the opportunity to represent their partnership in a county final.

The partnership would like to offer thanks to all who helped out on the day and would like to congratulate all swimmers who took part. All of the young people will be notified if they have been selected to represent south Norfolk.
