Basketball Bonanza!

South Norfolk Basketball Bonanza!

June saw the Y5/6 South Norfolk School Sport Partnership Basketball Tournament take place. Held at Framingham Earl Sports Centre and led by Community Basketball Coach, Kay Turner, schools competed in a two pool round robin competition.

With sports leaders from Framingham Earl and Wildcats Basketball Club warming up and helping to team manage the schools old rivalries were reignited as Stoke Holy Cross looked to defend the trophy they have held for the last 3 years.

Following the round robin schools played a deciding game to determine overall finishing positions after being treated to a nail biting game of Killer by the Basketball leaders.

Kay Turner, Community Basketball Coach, said, ‘’ It was great to see the improvements in the children’s game play from when we started the tournament to now. The benefits competitions like this and after school clubs make are huge.’’
