July saw the Y7 South Norfolk School Sport Partnership Basketball Tournament take place. Held at Framingham Earl Sports Centre and led by Community Basketball Coach, Kay Turner, schools competed in a round robin competition.
Schools from the partnership competed with guest school Notre Dame High, who thankfully stepped in at the last minute with two teams to replace drop outs.
With sports leaders from Framingham Earl and Wildcats Basketball Club officiating, they ensured the tournament was played in a friendly yet competitive atmosphere.
Kay Turner, Community Basketball Coach, said, ‘’ It was great to see so many girls playing Basketball. I encourage all schools to promote County U14 Girls Basketball Training to their children as there is some real talent out there.
Stuart Brunton-Douglas, Competition Manager, added,
‘’The children had a great day competing in the round robin. With Wildcats Basketball Club based here at Framingham Earl, it is great to provide an immediate accessible club link for the children to continue their development outside of school.’’
Final Standings from the Round Robin were as follows:
1st Notre Dame A = 12 points
2nd Notre Dame B = 10 points
3rd Framingham Earl A = 8 points
4th Framingham Earl B = 6pts
5th Old Buckenham High School = 4 points
