School Sport Partnership Update March 2020

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak and recent government requirements ALL currently planned school games events have been postponed until further notice. However, our role is still to provide support and activities to help all pupils stay active and to be able to support schools, teachers, parents and carers in understanding the importance of continuing with Physical Education (PE) whilst children and young people are inevitably going to be schooled in the home environment.

The pages on our website are here to support you in providing active learning at home and ensure your child meets the Chief Medical Officers Physical Activity Guidelines of 60 active minutes per day. You will also find links to several useful resources and challenges.

For further resources, news and updates follow us on social media.

You can also share photos and videos (with the permission of your parents!) of your family, class or school keeping active by using the following hashtags…

Welcome to the South Norfolk School Sport Partnership website!

The purpose of this website is to provide up to date information to school staff, parents and young people within the partnership. You will also find information on our work and how we strive to improve opportunities for all young people in PE and sport.

South Norfolk SSP consists of 8 high schools and 55 primary schools and is based at Framingham Earl High School. We offer a wide range of activities including events, competitions and festivals as well as providing support to schools. In addition to this the SSP attracts external funding to support projects such as Bikeability.

As a partnership we also offer schools the opportunity to participate in the Norfolk School Games. Individuals and teams from our schools, qualify from our South Norfolk SSP events which are held throughout the year and will  represent South Norfolk SSP in the Winter School Games or the Summer School Games.

Our Vision:

Creating an energised culture which focuses on each child achieving their personal best.

Our Mission:

To provide a broad range of opportunities to ensure all young people in South Norfolk can get involved in sport and physical activity.
