SSP Sportsmanship Award

Sport can be great for teaching young people about a variety of key qualities that can benefit them in other areas of their lives as well as sport. South Norfolk SSP want to encourage and celebrate pupils who demonstrate the School Games qualities at our sports events.

We invite all school staff, volunteers and coaches to nominate pupils at our events who show one or more of the following qualities;

  1. Having a positive attitude
  2. Is unselfish and helps other improve
  3. Challenges themselves to do their best
  4. Showing determination
  5. Working well in a team
  6. Being a good role model
  7. Showing respect to teammates/opposition/officials
  8. Winning with pride and/or losing with grace
  9. Listens well to the instructions given to them.

Pupils that are nominated for an award will be presented with a certificate at the end of the event and their achievements will be celebrated in front of all of the other pupils that have participated in the event.
