Year 3 & 4 Basketball Competition.  Mixed squads of up to 8 players with 4 on court at any time.  No gender specific.  Please could you enter 2 teams if bringing both Year 3 & 4 and Year 5 & 6.  Thanks KAY 

Format

Schools are invited to bring squads of (6-8).

This is a fun, simple rules tournament:

* To move around the court with the ball, you must be dribbling.

* Once you stop dribbling, one foot must remain in contact with the floor.

* Pass the ball and then move to a space nearer the basket.

* Put the ball in the hoop and score 2 points.

* Try not to make contact – although you can steal the ball from your opponents providing there is not contact.

* 4 players per team on the court at any one time

* Each game will have 1 half of 9 minutes(tbc).  Game starts with a end line ball after a toss.

* Each team will be able to substitute a player when the ball is out of play after informing the referee.

* At a change of possession, after a violation the play should restart from the nearest side or end line.

* One free shot will be awarded for a shooting foul, plus the shooting team will gain side line possession.  Free shots are worth 2 points along with all other shots.

* Any un-sportsman like conduct will result in the player not participating any further in the competition.

 Entry is open to all cluster schools.

Unfortunately, parents are unable to spectate during the event.
