Diss Cluster Cross Country 2017

On Monday 16th October almost 250 primary school children from 8 schools within the Diss Cluster descended on the fields of Diss High School for this year's cluster cross country competition.

There were 8 races in total, boys and girls races at 1000m (Year 3), 1200m (Year 4), 1400m (Year 5) and 1600m (Year 6).  The competitors charged around the course with some races producing clear winners but one or two saw very exciting sprint finishes to please the cheering crowd at the finish line.  All pupils running ran with such determination, the more experienced athletes found it challenging while the new competitors seemed to enjoy themselves. By all accounts this was perfect Cross Country weather.

The first 10 to finish in each race now progress to represent the Diss cluster at the South Norfolk SSP finals on Thursday 2nd November at Fritton Lake Outdoor Centre.

Many thanks to the Diss High School sports leaders who were a great help either marshalling the course, acting as hares for the races or collating results.
