Diss Cluster High 5 Netball 2018

On Monday 29th October 14 teams from Burston, Dickleburgh, Garboldisham, Roydon and Tivetshall took part in the Diss cluster High 5 netball competition.

The first part of the afternoon was a netball skills session. The sports leaders from Diss High School warmed up the players and then led seven different activity stations to help players learn some basic netball skills in preparation for the tournament, which followed.

The tournament was played in a league format and the overall winners were Garboldisham 1, runners up were Roydon 1 and third place was Burston 1. There were many children who played really well throughout the afternoon it was good to see the children develop their game play and support each other. A special mention must go to the children who picked up the Sportsmanship Awards these were the children nominated by their teacher for working hard in their teams, supporting their teams and showing positive attitudes throughout the afternoon.

A big thank you must go to the Sports Leaders from Diss High School they were superb at coaching and officiating. They really enabled the young people to make lots of progress and have fun at the same time.

If the children enjoyed the netball competition and are looking to learn a new sport and make some new friends then please contact Diss Netball Club. Diss Netball Club runs sessions every Friday at Diss High School between 4-5pm for children in year 3-7.
