Diss Cluster Tag Rugby

On Tuesday 13th November children from year 4, 5, and 6 participated in the Diss Cluster Tag Rugby Festival held at Diss High School. Sixteen teams took part in the event from All Saints, Bressingham, Burston, Dickleburgh, Garboldisham, Roydon, St Andrews and Tivetshall Primary Schools. The schools each participated in one of the four leagues where they finished decided their opponent for the play-off match and final placings positions. There were some competitive and closely contested games throughout the afternoon and all teams showed great sportsmanship throughout the tournament.

The festival was won by Garboldisham Primary School having defeated Roydon Primary School by one try in a high quality and exciting final. Both teams have now qualified for the South Norfolk School Sport Partnership Tag Rugby Final which will take place on Wednesday 13th March at Wymondham Rugby Club.

A big thank you must go to the year 10 Sports Leaders from Diss High School. The ten pupils were central to its delivery, refereeing the matches, scoring and producing the results sheets. They did a superb job.

An excellent afternoon of sport. Well done to all pupils who took part.
