SNSSP Cross Country 2019

On Tuesday 5th November South Norfolk SSP hosted the KS2 Cross Country competition at Old Buckenham Country Park. This event forms part of the Norfolk School Games programme which provides the opportunity for pupils to represent their school in competitive sport.

Almost 500 children from across South Norfolk took part in this years competition each of the participants had qualified to represent their cluster area by taking part in a prior qualifying competition. Each cluster team included 80 runners made up of 10 boys and 10 girls from each of the year groups (3/4/5/6).

There was plenty of suport for all runners with schools, friends and family lining the course to cheer everyone on. It was lovely to see everyone supporting each other.

Many thanks to the team at Old Buckenham Country park for enabling us to use their facilities and to the sports leaders from Old Buckneham High School who marshalled the course, helped guide runners around the course, collected finishing tickets and helped score the races.

Congratulations to the top 10 boys and top 10 girls who are now invited to represent South Norfolk SSP at the Norfolk School Games Finals . This will take place at Holkham Hall on Wednesday 4th March.

Well done to everyone who has taken part in a cross country competition this year.
