On Tuesday 10th March saw the finals of the School Games Tag Rugby competition, ran by South Norfolk School Sports Partnership. This year’s competition took place at Diss High School with 14 smalls school teams and 14 large school teams. All schools qualified for the finals after qualifying from a cluster round, making it a very close and competitive affair.
Trowse, Wreningham 2, Barnham Broom and Tasburgh 1 all endured successful group stage campaigns, winning their respective groups and progressing to the finals.
The finals, were a very close encounter, saw Wreningham 2 take home the small schools gold medal and Barnham Broom in the large schools competition.
Thank you to Diss High School for allowing us to use their pitches throughout the competition. Thank you to Diss Rugby Club who sent along coaches to work with the schools and provided information to school teachers on external club opportunities. Thanks to all teachers and coaches for their continued support and, most importantly, their enthusiasm. Well done to all of the children who took part.
