Covid-19 Update

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak and recent government requirements ALL currently planned South Norfolk SSP and Norfolk School Games events have been postponed until further notice.

However, our role is still to provide support and activities to schools and parents to help all pupils stay active and continue their learning.

We have compiled a variety of useful resources which may be helpful to parents who are home schooling their children or schools continuing to teach children of key workers.

The Current Situtation

In the current coronavirus situation, the National Network of School Games Organiser (SGOs) have been asked by Sport England and Youth Sport Trust to provide opportunities and ideas for children and families to keep active during the closure period.

What are we doing?

We will be working together with the other 7 School Sport Partnerships (SSPs) in Norfolk and with the Norfolk School Games team from Active Norfolk to provide activities and resources to children at school or at home to continue to be active. These will be able to be delivered with little or no equipment.

We have already compiled a list of FREE resources on our website, which will aid learning at home to support schools, parents and young people during the ongoing Coronavirus situtation.

With schools closed and families self isolating the SSP aims to provide whatever assistance we can to enable children to continue to learn, be active and enjoy themselves as much as possible.

Additional information will be posted on social media and on our SSP website periodically to ensure schools and parents are not overwhelmed with too many different ideas. Schools will also be emailed directly with this information to share via their channels of comunication.
