Norfolk School Games Virtual Challenges

Norfolk School Games go virtual to keep the spirit of the Games alive

The hugely popular Norfolk School Games will take a virtual turn this summer, to allow the spirit of the School Games to carry on despite the school closures.

The Norfolk School Sports Partnerships and Active Norfolk, who organise the school competitions and coordinate the county-wide School Games finals, have teamed up to make sure that kids can still enjoy the spirit of the School Games safely from their homes.

A virtual challenge will be released each week by the team of School Games Organisers for pupils to take on each week, starting 27 April. Each week, primary and secondary school students can submit photos and videos of themselves and their families completing the challenges, which will focus on personal improvement and reflect the sports and events that are currently in the Summer Games.

Active Norfolk and the School Sports Partnerships will share and celebrate the entries via social media during the Norfolk School Games finals week, 15th-19th June.

Regular dance challenges on the social media site TikTok will also be released as part of the School Games movement and dance summer festival, find them at @norfolkschoolgames.

The schedule of Virtual Challenges includes:

Virtual Mini-tennis, (primary and secondary) – week beginning 27th April

Virtual Kwik Cricket, (primary and secondary) – week beginning 4th May

Virtual Angling (secondary) – week beginning 4th May

Virtual Quadkids (primary and secondary) – week beginning 11th May
