Fun Day at our Learning and Discovery Event!!

What a fantastic day!

This year we introduced a new event to our calendar the Learning and Discovery Personal Challenge Festival. The event was held at Long Stratton Leisure Centre and was a huge success with many happy, smiley faces with ALL pupils having FUN!

This event was an ENGAGE themed event with many pupils in attendance experiencing their very first School Games event. The festival focus was to provide a new opportunity and experience to inspire pupils with or without SEND to participate and enjoy unified sport together in new inclusive activities which encourage lifelong participation and to realise their potential through physical activity and sport.

Throughout the festival pupils took part in Paralympic inspired sports including:

  • Guided Athletics
  • Badminton
  • New Age Kurling
  • Sitting Volleyabll
  • Inclusive Play

All of the pupils learnt some brilliant new skills whilst also understanding how important it is to be inclusive so that EVERYONE can enjoy sport together.

A pupils from one school commented

" I was nervous at the start of the event but I love all of the activities Kurling was the best".

A teacher stated:

"This event is great I cannot wait to use some of these ideas back at school".

A big thank you to Long Stratton Leisure Centre for hosting our event and also to our leaders from Long Stratton High School.
