Sun Shines for Tag Rugby Megafest

On the 17th March the sun was shining for our year 5/6 Tag Rugby Megafest. We welcomed 10 primary schools to Wymondham Rugby Club.

The morning saw the children take part in 5 tag rugby activities. These activities were designed to help the children understand the basic skills needed to play tag rugby and start to understand the basic rules. There was lots of smiling faces which showed that the children were enjoying the activities.

In the afternoon schools took part in a 6 team round robin festival with all teams playing each other in their group. Schools looked out for pupils in their team who displayed the School Games Value ‘Teamwork’ and these pupils were celebrated at the end of the event.

A massive thank you to our leaders from Wymondham College who ran the activities and refereed throughout the day. The year 9 sports leaders did an incredible job, they are new to the leadership role but they showed great maturity and initiative and undertook their roles with growing confidence throughout the day, we were delighted with them.

A massive thank you also goes to Kimberley Fearn who helped organise and run the day. A big thank you to Wymondham Rugby Club for hosting this event and letting us use your fantastic facilities. It was great to see so many children enjoying the game of rugby today and getting the opportunity to take part at a big club such as Wymondham RUFC.
