Wymondham Rugby Club recently played host to the South Norfolk School Sport Partnership Year 3-4 Rugby skills session. The event was split into a morning session and afternoon session with 16 schools in attendance across the day.
Throughout the session the pupils took part in 8 rugby activities. These activities were designed to help the children understand the basic skills needed to play tag rugby and start to understand the basic rules. There were lots of smiling faces, laughter and pupils having a fun time learning with their teammates.
School Games Organiser, Laura Goodswen said;
“It was great to have so many schools involved today and to see so many children enjoying the game of rugby. We had over 300 children taking part and for many of them it would have been their first experience of playing rugby outside of school”.
We must thank the team of 16 sports leaders from Wymondham College who did an incredible job in leading the skills stations. They did a great job supporting and encouraging the pupils throughout the sessions.
Thanks also goes to Kimberley Fearn from Wymondham Rugby Club who helped deliver the sessions and allows us to use the fantastic facilities at the rugby club.
