Fun at our Tag Rugby Mega Fest!

On the 24th November the sun was shining for our year 5/6 Tag Rugby Megafest. We welcomed 12 primary schools and over 200 children to Wymondham Rugby Club.

The morning saw the children take part in 6 tag rugby activities. These activities were designed to help the children understand the basic skills needed to play tag rugby and start to understand the basic rules. There were lots of smiling faces which showed that the children were enjoying the activities.

In the afternoon schools took part in a 5 team round robin festival with all teams playing each other in their group. Schools looked out for pupils in their team who displayed the School Games Value ‘Self-Belief’ and these pupils were celebrated at the end of the event. A massive congratulations to the pupils who took on leadership roles for their primary school with some becoming team managers and reporters. I cannot wait to read your reports on the day.

A massive thank you to our leaders from Wymondham College who ran the activities and refereed throughout the day. The year 10 sports leaders did an incredible job, they showed great maturity and initiative and undertook their roles with growing confidence throughout the day, we were delighted with them.

A massive thank you also goes to Kimberley Fearn who helped organise and run the day. A big thank you to Wymondham Rugby Club for hosting this event and letting us use your fantastic facilities. It was great to see so many children enjoying the game of rugby today and getting the opportunity to take part at a big club such as Wymondham RUFC.
