Bee Netball

On Thursday 18th May, pupils from across South Norfolk took part in our annual Year 4-6 Bee Netball Competition at the UEA, Sportspark.

After a short briefing regarding the rules, format of the day and most importantly our Spirit of the Games campaign. All teams were ready and eager to go from the outset and it was clear that all teams were well prepared, organised on the court and confident.

The tournament consisted of 2 pools with teams playing a group round robin. The sports leaders from Framingham Earl High School umpired all the matches and led skills stations to support the pupils with their passing and shooting skills. After a display of excellent netball across all the courts the final was between two strong teams, Wreningham 1 and Wreningham 2, who had both topped their groups. The final was closely contested with Wreningham 2 victorious. Teams were presented with medals and certificates to recognise their achievement. In a display of great sportsmanship Wreningham awarded their winning medays to the Forncett team who had played with great spirit and determination throughout the whole tournament.

Schools also nominated pupils who displayed excellent teamwork and honesty as part of the ‘spirit of the games’ nominations.  20 pupils were awarded ‘spirit of the games’ certificates for their excellent honesty.

I would like to congratulations all players who participated in the tournament, coaches and teachers who helped make the competition go so well and a fun day for all involved. The atmosphere throughout the day was amazing and it was fantastic to see so many of the pupils smiling, having fun, and enjoying playing netball with their friends.
