SNSSP Basketball competition

Framingham Earl High School hosted its annual South Norfolk School Sports Partnership Basketball tournament on Monday 5th March with teams from Poringland, Talconeston, Old Buckenham, Stoke Holy Cross, Wreningham, Brooke, Morely, Glebeland and Loddon Primary schools entering the event.

In total 93 pupils were involved in the event which involved a two league round robin tournament followed by a play off against the team who finished in the same position in each league. The festival allowed many students to experience a Basketball tournament for the first time and develop their Basketball skills and knowledge,  allow students to work as part of a team along with providing the opportunity to represent their school in an enjoyable environment expertly organised by Kay Turner.

Student’s enthusiasm, work rate and skill levels were really impressive and schools were well matched resulting in some really exciting matches. The event was supported by the excellent Framingham Earl High School leaders who officiated fixtures and were responsible for the scoring and results. The leaders did an outstanding job of running the tournament and encouraging and coaching the younger students throughout, proving to be excellent role models.

Congratulations go to all students and schools who participated along with the excellent leaders and staff who supported their schools. The eventual winners of the competition were Poringland Primary school who eventually won in a closely thought final against Wreningham.

The results were as follows:

1 Poringland

2 Wreningham C

3 Tacolneston

4 Brooke

5 Morely

6 Old Buckenham

7 Glebeland

8 Stoke Holy Cross
