Six schools came together on Thursday 12th November to take part in the Long Stratton Cluster tag rugby festival. The weather was very kind to us and it was a fantastic afternoon.
The schools-Preston,Shelton, Hempnall, Newton Flotman, Saxlingham and St Marys all arrived eager to play against each other. There were some very close games and some very skillful rugby was seen.
The last game saw St Marys and Newton Flotman fight it out for the top two positions. They were equal on points before the game was played. After a very exciting game the eventual score was 3 all, which meant it was down to tries scored throughout the festival.
The top three placings went to:
First St Marys Second Newton Flotman Third Hempnall
Congratulations should go to all the pupils who played for their sportsmanship and efforts throughout the event. A big thank you should also go to the coaches from Wymondham and Lakenham and Hewitt Rugby club for refereeing the matches.
