Y7 B/C Football Competition

A chilly 11th November Armistice Day saw Hobart High School host the South Norfolk Y7 B/C Football Competition. With 5 teams entering from 4 schools Framingham Earl, Hobart, Diss and Old Buckenham, the later the recent winners of the Y8 version of the competition, the bookies were being very shrewd with no clear favourite to win.

A late call off from Sky Sports News also led to the competition organisers undertaking photography on the day.

Six leaders also braved the near artic conditions in just shorts and T’ shirt’s as referees and linesman.  With the role models present, they ensured the competition was played in the spirit of fair play and sportsmanship. Take note premier league.

Some excellent defending and goalkeeping saw a number of clean sheets, including a credible draw between Framingham Earl B and C teams. Congratulations must go to Diss High School who just pipped Hobart to first place with 10 points. Diss will go through to represent the partnership at the County Final.

A PE Spokesman said, ‘’This is what makes teaching so rewarding. Having these opportunities for children who are not in the 1st team to play competitive football is fantastic.’’
