Spirit of the Games Festival

Spirit of the Games Festival

This year we introduced a new event to our calendar the Spirit of the Games Festival. The event was held at UEA Sportspark on Thursday 25th January and was a huge success with many happy, smiley faces with ALL pupils having FUN!

This event was an ENGAGE themed event with 15 different schools and over 400 pupils in attendance. Many experiencing their very first School Games event. The festival focus was to provide a new opportunity and experience to inspire pupils to participate and enjoy sport together in inclusive activities. The event also had a focus on inspiring pupils about the School Games Values and challenge young people to achieve their personal best.

All the pupils learnt some brilliant new skills whilst also understanding how important it is to be inclusive so that EVERYONE can enjoy sport together.

Working with local delivery partners Hoopstars, Putterfingers Golf, Premier Education, East Anglia Youth Rowing, and leaders from Old Buckenham High school. The pupils took part in seven different activities including:

  • Archery
  • Boccia
  • New Age Kurling
  • Rowing
  • Basketball
  • Mini Golf
  • Parachute Games
