Diss Cluster KS1 Multi Skills Event

On Tuesday 2nd October, over 275 Key Stage 1 children from the Diss Cluster primary schools took part in a multi skills festival held at Diss High School. The day consisted of two sessions; the following schools attended the morning session: Diss Infant, Roydon, Scole and Garboldisham and in the afternoon session: All Saints, St Andrews, Dickleburgh and Bressingham.

Each of the 10 stations had a specific focus and the children were given the opportunity to develop their agility, balance and coordination skills. Some of these stations included running though ladders, weaving in and out of cones, throwing balls and beanbags through hoops and at targets. Some of the skills were a little more challenging with children being asked to balance on wobble cushions, throwing and catching the balls and going through tunnels. It was lovely to see all the children who took part having fun and enjoying the activities.

This event also enables Diss High School year 9 Sports Leaders to develop their leadership skills; they helped to plan and lead the two sessions. The sports leaders did a fantastic job by enthusiastically encouraging the pupils; they also demonstrated each skill and guided the young people through the skills in a fun way. This day would not be able to go ahead without their support, so thanks must go to all of them.
