SNSSP Girls Football competition

Over 220 students from 26 teams took part in the SNSSP Girls Football competition at Goals on the 11th October. This was a fantastic Girls Football competition with record numbers of teams entering the competition.

Schools within the South Norfolk Schools Sport partnership took part in an enjoyable and competitive competition in the sunshine. Teams from years 3 and 4 were spilt into two groups and played a round robin tournament against the other teams in their group. Once final positions were decided, all teams then played a playoff match. The eventual qualifiers in the year 3 and 4 competition were Spooner Row and Robert Kett who overcame Ellingham and Wreningham in closely faught finals.

In the year 5 and 6 competition schools were spilt into two groups of 8 and played a round robin tournement against the other teams in the league. Once the final positions were decided, the winner of group A played 2nd in group B and the 2nd placed finisher in group A played the winner of group A to decide who qualifies to represent South Norfolk at the winter games. Robert Kett and Ellingham overcame Wreningham and Hempnall in two fantastic finals.

One of the major objectives of the School Games is to increase the number of students taking part in competivie sport and having a positive experience. It was fantastic to see so many students enjoying football and having a good day. I would like to thank the leaders from the Easton College Girls Football team who officiating, score kept, mananged the pitches and organised the results table, they did a fantastic job.

Well done to Robert Kett, Hempnall, Trowse, Poringland, Spooner Row, Surlingham, Rockland, Woodton, Loddon, Ellingham, Wreningham, Brooke, Harleston, Newton Flotman, Ashleigh, Browick Road and Carleton Road Primary Schools for taking part.
