ASHS Cluster Tag Rugby 2018

On Thursday 15th November sixty children from year 4, 5 and 6 participated in the Archbishop Sancroft cluster schools tag rugby festival held at ASHS. Five teams from Alburgh with Denton and Pulham Primary Schools played in a round robin tournament. Following the group stage each team participated in a play-off match to decide overall finishing positions.

The festival was won by Alburgh with Denton Primary School team 1 having defeated Alburgh with Denton Primary School team 2 by four tries to three in a high quality and exciting final. Both teams have qualified for the South Norfolk School Sport Partnership tag rugby finals which will take place in March at Wymondham Rugby Club.

The event was run by ASHS Sports Leaders. The 8 ASHS school students from Year 10 were central to its delivery, refereeing the matches, officiating and collating the scores. They did a superb job.

Five children were also highlighted as the sportsmanship player of the tournament they did a great job in helping their team succeed and supported all the players throughout the afternoon.

It was lovely to see so many children enjoying rugby and having fun playing sport.

Final Results:

1. Alburgh 1

2. Alburgh 2

3. Pulham 3

4. Pulham 1

5. Pulham 2
