SSP Mission and Vision

Who are we?

South Norfolk School Sport Partnership (SSP) is hosted by Framingham Earl High School which is part of the Sapientia Education Trust. The SSP is a network of 55 Infant, Junior and Primary Schools and 9 Secondary Schools. The SSP is managed by Laura Goodswen School Games Organiser.

Our Vision

Creating an energised culture across South Norfolk which inspires every young person to achieve their personal best and be physically active for life.

Our Mission

To provide a broad range of opportunities to schools in South Norfolk that create positive experiences for all young people to take part in PE, School Sport and Physical Activity. 

What we do?

South Norfolk SSP School Games will provide opportunities and experiences that young people of all ages and abilities will enjoys. Rather than focussing on sporting outcomes some activities will be designed to support the wider development of young people.

Physical Development: Being active for at least 60 active minutes a day supports young people to have immediate and long term health benefits.

Personal Development: The School Games has a positive impact on young peoples personal development such as developing leadership skills and resilience.

Emotional Development: The School Games improves young peoples self esteem, reduces stress, supports their mental wellbeing and builds their resilience.

Social Development: The School Games provides a sense of belonging, enabling young people to develop their teamwork, communication, empathy and respect for others.

SSP Opportunities

The SSP works with a wide range of partners including local schools, Active Norfolk, Youth Sport trust, Sport England to help support and guide schools and young people across South Norfolk to reach their potential through PE school sport and physical activity.

As a partnership we are committed to providing an inclusive, varied and high quality PE and School Sport experience. To help achieve this we offer schools:

  • School Games Experiences through 3 themes (Engage, Develop and Compete). 
  • Focus on School Games Values.
  • Virtual Events.
  • Support with Inclusive Health Check and School Games Mark.
  • Opportunities to participate in the Level 3 Norfolk School Games Programme.
  • County Leadership Opportunties.
  • Support with achieving 60 Active Minutes.
  • Barclays Girls Football Partnership 
  • Provide 1:1 support to schools.
  • Offer CPD training to teachers and PE leads.
  • Support with the PE and Sport Premium funding

On Thursday 24th April, pupils from across South Norfolk took part in our annual Year 4-6 Bee Netball Competition at the UEA, Sportspark.
